2010 Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards

Recognising excellence, innovation and contribution

This year, the APSEA Awards Night will be held in conjunction with the Spatial@Gov Conference in the ACT on Wednesday the 6th October, 2010.

The annual Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards are unique. Now in its fifth year, these are the only awards for the Asia-Pacific region that recognise, at the same event, the excellent achievements of both individuals and organisations engaged in the spatial information industry across the region. The key principles are:

•    Recognise and acknowledge excellence in the spatial information industry
•    Celebrate excellence before an audience of industry peers
•    Encourage activities to strengthen more relevant industry
•    Embrace the achievements of the industry and its professions
•    Contribute to industry growth.

   

The APSEA awards are presented in two categories

Individual Awards

These awards are managed by the Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI) and recognise excellence and contribution by individuals in the spatial information industry in the following categories:

• Education and Professional Development
• Service to the Surveying and Spatial Community
• Spatial Professional of the Year
• Young Professional of the Year
• Undergraduate Student Award
• Postgraduate Student Award

• Teacher of the Year

 

Industry awards

These are project based awards managed by the Australian Spatial Information Business Association (ASIBA) and are conferred in the following categories:

•    Innovation and Commercialisation
•    Land Titling and Development
•    People and Community
•    Infrastructure and Construction
•    Environmental Sustainability
•    Spatially Enabling Government
